Children and Youth at Christ the King 2018-19
Christ the King offers Christian education for children and youth ages 3 and up, in addition to nursery care for children under 4. Sunday school teachers and children (preschool through 6th grade) join the procession into church at the 10am service, and hear a brief children’s message. Then they go to their classes, rejoining the congregation for Holy Eucharist at 10:40. Youth (7th grade and up), attend class every other week at 9am and can attend either the 8am or the 10am service.
For Preschoolers: The Godly Play approach helps children explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their innate sense of God through wonder and play. For children ages 3-5. Led by Beth Vargas and Beth Veasey. 10am
For elementary school children (1st-3rd grade).
The Deep Blue curriculum offers meaningful and engaging curriculum, encouraging children to “dive deeper” into the Bible and explore their faith in fun and age-appropriate ways.

For middle schoolers (4th-6th). Submerge encourages kids ages 9-11 to dig deeper into the Bible, ask tough questions, and creatively engage their faith. Led by Linda Fitzpatrick and others. 10am

For youth (7th grade and up). Echo the Story is an imaginative way to engage in the Bible using story telling, creative reflection and dialogue. Gives youth a deep experience of the Bible. (9am in the new Education Wing)
