The Afghan Circle & Christ the King have partnered together with members of a recently resettled Afghan family to bring traditional Afghan food to the Rondout Valley. With the dedicated work of the Circle and the use of CTKβs commercial kitchen, our hope is to create a path towards sustainable income for this wonderful family. The Ariana Feast, prepared by a six-member family, is an opportunity for the community to come together to show our support for our Afghan neighbors, with the added bonus of a delicious meal! A four course meal will be offered each month, available for carry out at CTK. Menus and reservations below!

September Menu: A Harvest of Color & Comfort
This monthβs menu is a celebration of this transition, offering dishes that warm the soul, nourish the body, and invite us to gather and savor the richness of the season.
Starter: Macaroni Salad with Avocado Dressing
A refreshing and hearty start to your meal β tender macaroni tossed with crisp cucumber, juicy tomato, creamy chickpeas, and fresh lettuce, all brought together with a tangy avocado-based dressing made with vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Main Dishes
β’ Saffron Palaw with Chicken Koobideh Kebab
Fragrant white rice delicately infused with saffron, salt, and oil, served alongside juicy chicken koobideh β a kebab made from minced chicken thighs and breast, seasoned with garlic, special koobideh spices, salt, and butter. A warm, comforting dish that carries the essence of home.
β’ Saffron Palaw with Kuku Sabzi (Vegetarian Option)
The same golden saffron rice paired with Kuku Sabzi, a vibrant Afghan-style herb frittata made with parsley, coriander, leeks, and garlic, seasoned simply with salt and black pepper. A celebration of green goodness and bold flavor.
Dessert: Halwa
A rich and comforting finale β traditional halwa made from flour, sugar, and oil, slowly cooked until golden and fragrant. Sweet, dense, and deeply satisfying β a dessert to savor as the evenings grow cooler.

βFor I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.β
